Howdy

Hey, I haven't been around the computer much this week so, I haven't had a chance to post anything new. So, here's some photo's and some other useless information you may or may not want to know about. Enjoy!
Another wonderful pic of me! Um.....well.......I'm standing outside the house......doing what?......I don't know. Why the pic was taken?.......Um........not sure...........
We had some bad storms pass through on Tuesday. We caught the edge of the storms but, they produced tornado's and high winds as they pushed to the southeast. Ariel took this photo from her step-dad's place northeast of town after the storms had passed. She has a good eye for photography. She gets it from me......of course!
My cousin Andrew sold his Harley for this monster! As far as drumming goes, this guy is the master! For those of you who don't know music, let me introduce you to Vinnie. Vinnie Colaiuta to be exact. This guy is a machine! He has become one of my absolute favorite drummers. This is Vinnie in the studio.
This one is for Tom (my step-dad). This photo was shot in the studio during a recording of a Jing Chi album. Jing Chi is (from l to r) Vinnie (drums), Robben Ford (guitar), Jimmy Haslip (bass). Stay tuned to this blog. I'll post a video of one of their tunes soon. They have a song called the The Hong Kong Incident that I love. It has a cool groove and Vinnie's rocking it on drums.

In other news, my brother is laying down all of the music he has written on cd. He's gonna send me a copy when it's done. I can't wait! This kid is amazing! I'm proud to be his bro!

I guess it was inevitable for Nekoda and myself to become musicians (he's amazing and I'm...well...so so) with the parents that we have. They are all fabulous musicians too and, are very inspiring. I know growing up, listening to the music they played was very cool to me. I always thought, this is what I want to do when I get older. I'm very glad I'm getting back into the game. I've always had music in my heart, I just haven't been playing it. Now I'm going at it again and I hope to get out soon and get some new gear, get some gigs, jam, and just enjoy playing. Hopefully, someday, my Bro and I can collaborate on something. That would be very cool.

Hey, God Bless, and thanks for reading. Good Day!

Speaking of music and the power and release that music provides for us. I found this Psalm that speaks of praising God with musical instruments. Just think, all the music you listen too, regardless of if it's christian or secular, rap or metal, pop or rock, funk or soul, opera or classical, jazz or polka. It doesn't matter what kind of music it is, you have some kind of music that you like, that makes you happy, that gets you in a zone, that relaxes you, makes you dance, that means something to you. We all have a deep love for music. Just imagine your life without music......I can't, can you? Well, the Lord has blessed all the musicians that make all the music you listen too the gift of music. He's granted us all the ability to play an instrument, sing, write music, and share that gift with everyone. So think about this passage a bit and what it really means.

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 150
